7:00 pm Club Meeting Program
We have arranged a Nose Work demo at the February 10 membership meeting at 7:00pm.This will be presented by Debbie Stoner and have demonstrations by club members Kyla Smay, Leslie Fassio, Laurel Putnam and Karen Johnson. K9 Nose Work was founded by Amy Herot, Ron Gaunt and Jill-Marie O’Brien to provide companion and performance dogs with an outlet for their inborn hunting and scenting abilities. The term nose work means that the dog is using its nose to find a target odor. What could be more natural or fun for a dog than to hunt for a reward it wants, either treats or toys? It is a wonderful activity for any dog but especially for the dog that is too aggressive around other dogs or for dogs that are shy of other dogs or their environment. It really builds confidence!!! Each dog in class works one at a time with all the other dogs crated outside of the work area or in their cars. It is a great game for puppies and also retired competition dogs who still want to play! Join us to find out more abut this fun performance event. Location 7:30 pm Club Meeting
Club meetings are normally held at the club house at 887 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa, CA. Occasionally the meeting is held elsewhere so be sure to check the website prior to attending to verify the location. Scheduled programs are followed by the business meeting which address a variety of issues including upcoming training classes plus planning and organizing for club events such as our August Agility Trial and our March Obedience and Rally Trials. Visitors are welcome to attend programs and club meetings. Location |
